Why should you start to garden?
For the past decades, we have constantly faced many alarming issues about the environment. Serious concerns and debates about its sustainability and survival have emerged everywhere around the world. The harsh impacts of climate change and the catastrophic manifestations of global warming are inevitable. We can no longer ignore the damaging effects of climate change in our lives. Nature sustains us; we all depend on it. It is our LIFE! Factories can’t create life. You may not have thought of it, but no matter how small it is, garden beds can start making a big difference to save our environment.

Big things come from small beginnings
To make a garden bed is not just simply digging and planting. It is a bit of patience and hard work, but the pay off for years to come is very rewarding. Whether you want to grow vegetables, herbs or flowers, you must first carefully select the location. For a vegetable garden, you must choose a perfect spot, keeping in mind the amount of sunlight, moisture and humidity in the area, as well as the adjacent trees and other structures that can block the sunlight in your garden bed. Then, consider the type of soil to use in your raised garden bed. Some plants don’t grow well in soil that is loamy or soggy. Another important factor is, of course, your supply of water. Nothing will stay alive and grow without water. Determining it now will save you a lot of time and trouble later. The next step is preparing the soil. Get that shovel and start digging! Pull up the soil, turn it over and break up the clumps. Remove the weeds and grass as you go along. You will want to add moss, sand, compost, manure or fertilizer to enhance the content and quality of the soil.
Once you have built your actual garden bed box made out of any material you prefer, although the popular choice is wood, you’re now ready to plant anything you want. It is easier said than done. You may have the time and energy, but it is the passion and the mission that will make you finish the task. Together, let us stop harming and start helping our environment. It begins with simple garden beds in our own backyard.
